Elle Farris is a highly skilled and passionate legal professional with commercial experience. Elle has worked in the resources industry for over 5 years, advising major resource companies.

Elle was recently named Mineral Council of Australia’s Exceptional Young Woman in Australian Resources and the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia Young Outstanding Women in Resources. These awards recognise an outstanding young woman who has shown significant promise and achieved significant milestones in her career to date at both a state and national level. It also recognises Elle’s contribution to promoting the Australian resources industry’s reputation, standing in the community, and increasing inclusion and diversity in the sector.

Elle is currently the Senior Corporate Counsel / External Relations at Newmont, being the world’s largest gold mining company.

Elle recently concluded a 6-month secondment as a Supply Chain Specialist in Newmont’s Vision Zero Project. The Vision Zero Project is the strategic alliance between Newmont and Caterpillar which will see the rapid development and implementation of mining equipment and technologies to provide a fully integrated and all-electric autonomous ecosystem to achieve zero emissions.

Elle is also the Chair of Newmont’s Perth Pride Business Resource Group which is dedicated to ensuring the workplace is inclusive for those who identify as LGBTQ+.
