Starting and finishing in Perth, the day trip will include a geology overview presentation, and a visit to not only the Fimiston “Superpit” and Mt Charlotte Underground, but also provide an overview and tour of the mill expansion that is currently underway.

The Golden Mile, known once as the richest square mile on earth has mined over 60Moz of gold over the last 130 years.

The Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG) invites you to join their five-day pre-conference field trip to the gold mines of Central Victoria, designed for the International Mining Geology 2024 delegates. Starting and finishing in Melbourne, the 5-day tour will visit all major gold producers in the region to discuss their regional setting, local mining geology and more.
