Building self-confidence early in your career is critical to helping achieve your goals. With an exclusive opportunity to learn from and engage with successful mining leaders, AusIMM’s New Leaders Conferences will inspire university students, graduates and young professionals to develop their self-belief and discover their potential.

In the first session of New Leaders 2021, titled ‘Self-confidence: The key to unlock your potential’, attendees will hear from Newcrest Mining’s Jason Hume, Senior Advisor, Organisational Development; and Holly McVicar, Project Manager from the Australian Mining and Exploration Title Services (AMETS).

Jason will share ways new professionals can stand out to future employers and make an impactful first impression. You’ll also hear from some recent Newcrest Mining graduates who can give you the latest tips on securing your first job!

Holly will then lead an interactive session including guided game playing and story-sharing to help new professionals present themselves confidently. The session will provide tips on establishing support networks and mentors that will have lasting career benefits.

Find out how to reach your potential at New Leaders 2021, held on September 28-29 in Brisbane and online. Other topics explored throughout the conference include leadership growth and development, diversity and inclusion, social and environmental impacts, safety leadership and mental health, and technology and innovation.
