This short course will deliver an informed mindset shift to recognise diversity and inclusion as opportunities for positive change and progress.
Understand diversity and inclusion challenges specific to the mining industry and receive tools and resources, contextualised for the sector by those in the sector.
The course will feature a wide range of insights and perspectives from diversity professionals and organisations relevant to mining, and will leave you empowered to implement lasting change.
After completing her first degree, Bachelor of Arts with double major in Media Communication and Public Relations at Deakin University, Giulia pursued her passion for developing an engaged and diverse workforce based around creating inclusive work environments that both educate and support our people and the wider communities in which they work.
In 2018, Giulia relocated back to Melbourne to accept the role as Principal – Diversity and Inclusion with Newcrest Mining Limited. During her three years with Newcrest, Giulia launched Newcrest’s first Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, embedded their first Indigenous Relation’s Policy and expanded the company approach beyond gender, to engage LGBTIQA+ community and well as greater cultural and religious diversity.
In 2019, Giulia started a doctorate to complete a research degree exploring the link between corporate social responsibility and gender representation, specifically providing deeper understanding for the industry on the challenges for minorities in mining.
This year, Giulia was very excited to commence with St Barbara Mining Limited as the Group Manager Diversity & Organisational Effectiveness with the drive to embed their first Organisational Effectiveness Strategy, develop key initiatives and resources including programs, tools, resources, communications and training. Lead the Company’s Diversity and Inclusion Strategy and deliver on commitments to build an effective and diverse workforce with an inclusive culture across the Group’s global operations. Providing support, advice and coaching to leaders.
Giulia is a Councillor for AusIMM’s Council for Diversity & Inclusion.
