Brian Gerrell is a metallurgical engineer with more than 40 years of experience across the full spectrum of mineral processing — from early-stage project concept through to large-scale operational management, technology development and independent technical review.
He is the founder and principal of Gwanda Consulting, an independent metallurgical consultancy based in Australia operating globally. He works exclusively for owners, investors and senior decision-makers who need experienced, independent technical advice — typically when a flowsheet needs an independent challenge, when an owner needs someone technical in their corner dealing with a major engineering firm, or when a board needs a plain-language technical assessment with no agenda behind it.
His career includes senior technical and management roles at Rio Tinto, AngloGold and Harmony Gold, spanning gold, silver, copper, uranium, rare earth elements, phosphates, lithium, aluminium and many other commodities.
He is a member of both AusIMM and the SME.
