A Mine Sustainability Lead and Principal Mining Engineer with 25 years' international experience across iron ore, diamonds, bauxite and industrial minerals in Australia, Brazil and Canada, spanning the full mining lifecycle from studies, development, operations to rehabilitation, closure and post-mining land use.
I lead AMC Consultants' Mine Sustainability service, helping mining companies embed sustainability into strategy, mine design, operational performance and investment decisions. My focus is practical, value-accretive solutions across mine closure, rehabilitation, decarbonisation, ESG risk, permitting and social performance.
Previously I held senior roles at Rio Tinto, BHP and Regeneration, leading technical services, strategic and integrated planning, and rehabilitation and closure teams across open pit and underground operations. I led BHP's restart planning after the Samarco Fundão tailings dam failure, supporting alternative tailings strategies and eventually relicensing.
I build high-performing teams, lead through complex and ambiguous environments, and helped translate sustainability ambitions into business outcomes supporting major investment decisions, operational transformations and long-term planning for some of the world's largest miners.
