AusIMM is proud to announce its appointment to the Victorian Government's Critical Minerals Advisory Group (CMAG).

This appointment reflects AusIMM's significant advocacy work and our role as a trusted voice for resources professionals across the sector.

The CMAG has been established as part of the Victorian Critical Minerals Roadmap, a strategic plan to grow a sustainable and responsible critical minerals industry. AusIMM directly contributed to the development of this strategy throughout 2024 and 2025, and the newly established Advisory Group will now provide expert advice to Resources Victoria on developing a downstream critical minerals industry in regional Victoria, focusing on value-added processing, manufacturing, and supporting a circular economy.

Our participation in the CMAG is a direct result of our members' expertise and contributions. It underscores our commitment to providing evidence-based, balanced, and apolitical policy insights that advance the sector and benefit the broader community. This appointment builds on our ongoing advocacy efforts, including the development of our Professional Pathways Whitepaper, comprehensive policy submissions, and direct engagement with government.

AusIMM is dedicated to ensuring that the development of Victoria's critical minerals industry is informed by the highest standards of professional knowledge and practice. We look forward to contributing to a thriving and responsible future for the sector.
