The IMARC NextGen Program is a dynamic three-day experience that will bring together more than 200 undergraduate students, graduates, trainees, and apprentices in mining and resources-related fields.

The program is hosted as part of the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) taking place at ICC Sydney from 21-23 October.

As Founding Partner of IMARC, AusIMM has helped develop an impactful NextGen program that will provide participants the opportunity to gain firsthand insights from industry leaders, explore career pathways, and build valuable connections within the sector.

Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with AusIMM and peers in a supportive, inclusive environment through a daily Meet and Greet at the AusIMM booth (F31). Attendees can meet representatives from AusIMM’s NSW-based Student Chapters (Sydney, Illawarra and Hunter) and learn more about how they can get involved with AusIMM throughout their studies.

“The IMARC NextGen program provides lots of opportunities for delegates to learn more about building a career in the resources sector. The Sydney Chapter is excited to welcome attendees to our beautiful city and help people kickstart their career in mining.”  Sydney Student Chapter President Tahliaa Sampelalong

"The best part of IMARC is the conversations. Learning how others approach the same challenges and being inspired by the ideas driving change in mining creates an event that always broadens my perspective and continues fuelling my passion for the industry. I'm really looking forward to this year's event and hope to see many of you there."  Illawarra Student Chapter President Nathan Robinson

“Alongside the networking opportunities, IMARC is a chance to hear a range of insightful presentations and panel discussions from industry experts on topics that are shaping the sector.”  Hunter Student Chapter President Emily-Jane Schutte

On Wednesday 22 October from 3-4 pm, AusIMM’s New Professionals Network (NPN) will host a session titled “The Skill Shift: From Technical Expert to People and Business Leader”. Hosted by AusIMM NSW NPN Ambassadors Taylor McDonald and Thomas Brown, the panel will feature insights from David Tulloch (Metso); Richard Horton (Partners in Performance - part of Accenture); and Katie Hulmes (BHP).
