As we reach halfway through 2025, the Consultants Society has experienced a notably eventful year thus far. Earlier this year, we conducted a strategic session to align with the AusIMM's strategic imperatives and to identify key focus areas for our membership:

  • Member engagement
  • Reward & recognition
  • Standards, codes, and professional practice
  • Courses, education, and training through our signature Study Processes initiative
  • Communication via our newsletter, on LinkedIn, and through webinars
  • Active governance
  • We have now outlined specific activities intended to support our membership base. We always seek to enhance our efforts and welcome your input regarding how we can better support consultants in non-traditional fields.

In light of this, we are pleased to invite our members to the Consultants Society Forum in Brisbane, following the Life of Mine | Mine Waste and Tailings Conference on 31 July 2025. Considering the rapidly evolving environment in which consultants and their valued clients operate, it is timely to engage with industry-leading experts on the theme ‘Consulting - A 360 Perspective.’ You can find out more information including the full program and speaker lineup here.

Although this initiative has been in development since 2016, we look forward to continuing our engagement and support for our members. We are fortunate to have secured some distinguished speakers who have accepted our invitation to participate, and we hope you will be motivated to attend and contribute to the future direction of the Consultants Society.

We remain committed to delivering value for our community and are pleased to announce the continuation of the Study Processes course, scheduled for its second session this year. If you have not yet registered, we encourage you to do so here.

Additionally, we are excited to introduce the Study Processes Handbook, designed to enhance the professional capability of our members, thereby improving investor and community confidence, corporate governance, and the overall reputation of the mineral resources sector.
