ConSoc at recent AusIMM conferences in Brisbane
ConSoc has been represented at two of the recent AusIMM conferences in Brisbane this year:
At Underground Operators Conference (27-29 March 2023), Peter Fairfield and Lisa Park spent time at the AusIMM Communities of Interest (COI) booth, with other COI representatives, enjoying the networking opportunities with conference attendees and sharing on the initiatives of the ConSoc COI.
We were also fortunate to have the opportunity to present at the recent Mine Waste & Tailings Conference (13-14 July 2023) and Life of Mine Conference (2-4 Aug 2023), on ConSoc’s initiatives. Lisa Park presented “Weaving the Threads Together”, which focused on illustrating the ways in which the AusIMM Study Processes course related directly to the themes of the conference, and the areas in which mine waste and tailings and life of mine planning were considered in the study process. In the spirit of highlighting the relevance of ConSoc, Lisa summarised the other key initiatives by ConSoc.
