Hunter Region Branch June 2022 Newsletter

· 450 words, 2 min read
From the Branch Chair

Dear Hunter Region Branch members,

hennie.jpgThe Branch Committee is pleased to be able to introduce two events in this newsletter. After a two-year hiatus, our annual visit to Armidale is due to take place in a couple of weeks. We have also set the date and confirmed the lecturer for the flagship event on our calendar, the annual Jameson Lecture. See event details below.

The resource industry is currently experiencing robust demand, and in some cases unprecedented strength in product prices. The ability to deliver on some of these expectations is in our sector, as in many other sectors, currently being inhibited by access to skills and people. This should of course bode well for our members, although there are clearly articulated risks in the broader economy.

AusIMM remains active and has a substantial program of development and growth opportunities, including having recently announced the return of the annual Thought Leadership Series. Where possible, we aim to bring these to our region and within reach of branch members.

With best wishes,
Hennie du Plooy
Chair, AusIMM Hunter Region Branch
