Hunter Region Branch: October 2025 Chair Update

Dear Hunter Region Branch members,

Excitement grows as we move towards one of our favourite events of the year, the Jameson Lecture. This year, we have an esteemed Professor from UNSW Seher Ata, who will present on water quality and its impact on mineral processing.

We were delighted to host AusIMM President Chris Carr at The Newcastle Club last month, where we were able to present awards to longstanding members. 

AusIMM Congress was held earlier in October, AusIMM’s premier central planning and Comunity of Interest support event. Post-Congress, the committee will have our own planning day for the Hunter Region Branch in November.

A big thank you goes to our member John Lea, who is stepping back from our Branch Committee after many years of service to the Branch, most of which was in the role of Secretary.

Welcome to our new members. We hope to see you and all members at an AusIMM event sometime soon.
