Note from the Consultants Society Chair – December 2025

It is coming to the end of 2025, and I would like to thank our current ConSoc committee members for their valuable contributions this year.

We wouldn’t be anywhere without them, and I would like to call out thanks to: Irena Ivanova for her service to ConSoc, and ongoing support to ConSoc’s Study Processes initiatives; Mark Faul for coordinating the highly successful ConSoc forum in 2025; and Sonia Konopa for coordinating the awards subcommittee and distinguished speaker series, which was first proposed by Paul Harper.

I would also like to thank Sonia Konopa for taking on the role of Chair for 2026-2027. She has a wealth of experience with ConSoc now and the support from a strong committee going forwards.

We also welcome new committee members James Carpenter and John Riordan, and a returning member, Mark Faul, for a second term in 2026. James and John bring a wealth of AusIMM experience, and we look forwards to their contributions to ConSoc.

And while it has been a privilege to contribute to ConSoc I am also looking forwards to stepping back and supporting the committee as outgoing Chair in 2026. The time has passed so quickly, and I thank current and past committee members for their contributions and support!
