· 163 words, 1 min read

Every year the Education Endowment Fund (EEF) Board of Trustees award the annual EEF Scholarships, including the prestigious Sir Frank Espie/Rio Tinto Leadership Award and EEF Premium Scholarships.

Students from all over Australia studying a minerals-related degree are encouraged to apply. The purpose of the EEF program is to identify future industry leaders among AusIMM’s student members and ensure they are offered meaningful opportunities to develop professionally.

The Tasmania branch is delighted to announce that UTAS Student Issi Port has secured an Undergraduate Premium Scholarship. Issi is currently undertaking his Honours in the school of Earth Sciences.

This years winners will undertake a one week field trip to North Western Tasmania to visit a number of mines and mineral processing sites starting in the first week of July. We would like to congratulate all the recipients of our 2023 EEF Scholarships and welcome them to Tasmania in July. Full biographies of our recipients will be shared in an upcoming edition of the digital AusIMM Bulletin.
