WIMnet Tas 2022 Mentoring Program

· 300 words, 2 min read

The Women in Mining Network (WIMnet) Tasmania is pleased to offer the 2022 mentoring program, supporting Tasmanian women in the mining, resources and manufacturing industry.

Initially launched in 2019, this program has been designed to provide mentees with a no cost, semi-structured opportunity to connect with more experienced individuals outside of the day-to-day workplace who will provide support from a professional and personal development perspective.

Participation can be in person and/or long-distance via technology. All participants must be working in Australia during the program.

Expressions of interest are now sought from both mentees and mentors. The criteria for both mentees and mentors are:

Mentees (women only):

  • Currently working in the mining, resources or manufacturing industry in any role. Final year students are also encouraged to apply.
  • Willingness to commit to a 6 month program, driving the process to obtain their goals
  • A strong interest in developing their career

Mentors (men and women):

  • At least 7 to 10 years of working experience (any industry)
  • Availability to participate in a 6 month program
  • A strong interest in supporting their matched mentee

Program duration
Registrations are now open until 8 April 2022.

The program will commence late April and finish by the end of October 2022.

Networking events will also be scheduled during the program along with regular progress update check-ins with the organising committee.

Cost: Free for mentoring program. Additional cost for optional networking events.
