The Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) has released its 2022 Professional Development Calendar to support the careers of mining professionals.

The 2022 Calendar incorporates ten world class technical mining conferences, seventeen online specialty courses, three leadership events series and numerous technical webinars, making it AusIMM’s biggest and most comprehensive annual program of professional development.

As the peak body for all people working in resources, AusIMM has a proud history of providing world leading technical knowledge to elevate professional excellence and best practice in the resources industry. AusIMM’s annual calendar provides multiple professional development opportunities each month for professionals to enhance their skills, build their knowledge and extend their professional networks.

Providing professionals with the ongoing tools to develop their careers was a cornerstone of AusIMM’s important role in the mining industry said AusIMM CEO Stephen Durkin.

“AusIMM is committed to meeting the needs of all people in the mining industry through a range of professional development activities, ensuring they are routinely provided with the most up to date learnings and standards globally,” said Mr Durkin.

“Equipping people across a diverse range of skill sets and backgrounds with a series of strong professional development opportunities, wherever they are located will drive industry growth, safety and excellence.”

AusIMM’s 2022 Professional Development Calendar supports people at all stages of their career and in all disciplines to connect, learn and share. Highlights of the 2022 Calendar include the JORC Code Essentials course, The Future of Process Automation course, International Mining Geology Conference 2022 and the new Gold Plant of the Future Symposium.

With hybrid delivery of conferences, online courses, digital library resources and AusIMM’s strong network of regional communities running events throughout the year, mining professionals working in city, regional and remote locations can easily access professional development to support their career goals.

AusIMM also offers a bespoke industry based mentoring program, an annual awards program to recognise excellence in the sector and invaluable scholarships opportunities for individuals transitioning through tertiary study, looking to kick-starting their career in mining.
