AusIMM announces packed program for highly anticipated Iron Ore Conference 2021
AusIMM has announced the program for its highly anticipated Iron Ore Conference 2021, taking place from 8-10 November. Together with CSIRO, AusIMM has created an extensive program to showcase world-leading knowledge and technologies, bringing expertise straight from the Pilbara to delegates in Perth and online.
With a focus on ‘Sustainability in a Changing World’, the conference will feature over 60 technical presentations, 12 leading industry keynote speakers and thought provoking presentations from iron ore giants BHP, Fortescue Metals Group, Rio Tinto and Roy Hill.
Delegates will have the opportunity to hear from world class industry experts including Robin Batterham FAusIMM, Professor of Engineering, University of Melbourne; Barry Fitzgerald, CEO Roy Hill Holdings Pty Ltd; Nicole Roocke, CEO, Minerals Research Institute of WA; and Alison Terry, Director Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Fortescue.
Alongside the conference will be three workshops giving delegates the opportunity to dive deeper into the latest innovations underpinning the iron ore industry, with topics ranging from steelmaking to materials handling:
- Workshop 1: Iron and Steelmaking
- Workshop 2: Iron Ore Geometallurgy: Characterisation and Implications for Beneficiation
- Workshop 3: How to make materials handling decisions
Workshop One and Two will be in person at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre and at CSIRO Mineral Resources, Australian Research Resources Centre. Workshop three will be delivered online, giving people all over the world access to a unique opportunity to learn and share knowledge in a smaller, dedicated group.
A huge amount of conference content will be available through AusIMM’s online delivery platform, EventsAir, making this conference accessible for a global audience.
