AusIMM Announces 2024 Education Endowment Fund (EEF)
AusIMM is delighted to announce that applications for the 2024 Education Endowment Fund (EEF) Scholarships will be open from Monday, 31 July 2023.
Since 1989 the Education Endowment Fund has been supporting undergraduate and postgraduate students in the mining industry by providing financial assistance and professional development opportunities.
For more than three decades, the AusIMM Education Endowment Fund has played a pivotal role in supporting talented individuals on their educational and professional journey. The Board of Trustees remains committed to empowering the next generation of mining professionals, driving progress and innovation within the industry.
The EEF has been a key pillar of support for students, enabling them to complete their studies and embark on successful careers in the mining sector. Over the years, the fund has provided countless scholars with the means to achieve their academic and professional goals while contributing to the growth and development of the industry.
This year, the EEF will offer a number of scholarships, each valued at over $20,000 in the first year of offer. These scholarships are open to Australian citizen and permanent resident students with a record of academic excellence who seek to develop leadership qualities, expand their knowledge, and build a strong professional network to position themselves for future opportunities in the resources sector.
Successful applicants in 2024 will receive the following benefits:
- Annual financial support of $11,000 throughout the duration of their undergraduate studies.
- A career-building mentorship program, pairing recipients with industry professionals, valued at $5,000.
- Support to develop career-enhancing personal and professional development skills.
- An all-expenses-paid, one-week intensive field trip to a mineral-rich region in Australia, providing valuable hands-on experience and insights.
Postgraduate students can apply for a research scholarship, valued up to $25,000* per annum for a maximum of three calendar years. This scholarship includes participation in the mentor program and the field trip.
*The final figure is dependent upon the value of other scholarships/stipends to a maximum of $50,000 (all-inclusive amount).
