Geochemical Studies in the Coromandel Peninsula - The Merits of Mercury in Soils as a Pathfinder for Precious Metal Mineralisation in the Thames-Waihi Area
The mercury, gold, silver, copper, lead and zinc values of soils over altered and mineralised rock were determined to establish the potential use of mercury as an indicator element in geochemical prospecting. The results are presented to show that mercury can be used successfully in prospecting for precious metal mineralization in the Thames-Waihi area.
