Kinetics and Mssbauer Spectroscopy Studies of Direct Iron Ore Reduction
Direct reduction of iron ore (DR) is one of the promising technology
emerging in the world's steel industry. Kinetics and Mossbauer studies of
DR with hydrogen have been carried out at two temperatures of 600C
and 800C in this investigation. The results show that different controlling
steps govern the reduction rate at different temperatures. The mechanism
was also found to vary during the reduction. The Mossbauer spectra of the
samples reduced in various time intervals were studied to determine the
phase changes during reduction.
