Tas McKee Memorial Address - Professionalism, The AusIMM and the Community'

Whilst the
wider community is both a large consumer of mineral products and relies on
mineral exports for much of the wealth which sustains it, the community
generally has a poor perception of the minerals industry.

The role
of professionals and The AusIMM in the "New Economy" minerals industry is
reviewed. The new structure of The Institute is vital as we move forward in
times of globalisation, rationalism, increasing litigation, criminalisation of
risk and increased focus on corporate governance. This address looks forward to
ways The AusIMM and professionals of the future are positioning themselves for
these and other challenges.
