Flow of Mineral Slurries
Fundamental rheological properties of slowly settling mineral slurries are reviewed._x000D_
Slurry flow is discussed in terms of observed shear stress-shear rate behaviour. Particular emphasis is placed on establishing procedures for scale-up and design. Flow property measure- ments on red mud, a waste product from the Bayer alumina process, are presented and used to illustrate recommended design procedures.
