The misplacement of mining shafts and adits in Victoria
THE above title is one that occurred to the writer when reviewing certain grave errors that have occurred in mining development during the past few years in Victoria; and while criticising methods which in some instances are still adopted, it must be understood that such criticism is not offered in any carping spirit, but with the object of pointing out certain possibilities of mistake which must always exist so long as those interested in and having authority over mines decide, without regard to expert opinion, upon the methods and details of the initial work in opening up a mine.
