The Evolution in Design of Longhole Open Stoping at Zinc Corporation Limited/New Broken Hill Consolidated Limited Mines with Particular Reference to Sloped Wall Mining
The progress of longhole open stoping (LHOS) at Zinc Corporation Limited and New Broken Hill Consolidated Limited (ZC/NBIIC) is described together with the design of a novel sloped wall longhole stoping method which should allow the complete extraction of the orebody without the formation of pillars and with minimal dilution of the ore with sand fill.
