Ways to get involved

Every AusIMM member has a critical role to play in advancing our role as Trusted Voice for people in resources, in line with Our Advocacy Framework. There are many opportunities for AusIMM members and industry professionals to contribute their insights on a range of AusIMM policy and advocacy projects.

We invite participation in the following initiatives:

International Standard for Mining Engineers

AusIMM is supporting IOM3 in its consultation on the establishment of a new global competence framework for mining engineers, which has the working title ISME (International Standard for Mining Engineers).

Skills and training reform

The Australian Government is currently consulting on key reforms to the Australian skills system. There are now several opportunities for AusIMM members to share their views on strengthening the Australian skills and training framework.

Social Responsibility Framework

Learn about the role we all play in driving social responsibility for the benefit of our sector and community and engage with our ESG and Social Responsibility Committee.

Lithium and Battery Metals

AusIMM invites all members to contribute to the development of a nationally scoped discussion paper on lithium and battery metals.

Reconciliation Action Plan

We are working to create equality of opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people both in and through the resources sector.

Women in Mining Survey

Contribute your views, ideas and perspectives on advancing women’s participation in the resources sector in our annual survey.

Professional Employment and Remuneration Survey

Provide input into our annual research on employment conditions and the experience of people working in resources.

Resources Education Collaboration Summit

AusIMM held a Summit in in conjunction with the Victorian Government in 2019 and will again hold this Summit in 2021.
