If you have 10+ years of exerience in the resources sector and have demonstrated leadership, expertise and significant impact, you may be eligible for AusIMM Fellow grade - our highest grade of membership.

Fellow grade FAQs
Who can apply for Fellow grade membership with AusIMM?
- Professionals with a degree qualification and at minimum of ten years’ experience in the resources sector, at least five years of which have been at senior management or executive level; OR
- Have held a position of senior responsibility for a period of at least 15 years and during which have achieved distinction through personal contribution to science or industry.
How much is annual Fellow membership?
AusIMM Fellow membership is an annual 12-month membership fee of $630 (incl GST) for Australian residents. Plus a one-off application fee of $77 is charged when joining.

How do I apply to become a Fellow with AusIMM?
Complete our online application form. You can save your application at any point.
You will need to provide:
- A certified copy of your tertiary degree in English (if relevant)
- A copy of your resume or LinkedIn profile URL showing at least ten years’ experience in the resources sector
- A completed summary and statement of senior experience
- Copy of your Passport or Drivers Licence photo identification
- Names and contact details of three referees* (two of whom must be current Fellow Members)
*these referees must be professionals who have personal knowledge of the applicant. Acceptable professionals include Members & Fellows of the AusIMM or of any other professional association whose members are bound by a code of ethics; professionals authorised to witness Australian Commonwealth statutory declarations; and their international counterparts.
Will I become a Competent Person with AusIMM membership?
Being an AusIMM Member or Fellow is one of the requirements to be a Competent Person as per Clause 11 of the JORC Code 2012.
How can I upgrade from Member grade membership to Fellow grade?
- Log into your AusIMM dashboard.
- On the right-hand panel, click "Grade transfer available. Begin application."
- Complete your details, upload your documents (CV or LinkedIn profile; a certified true copy of your tertiary degree; names and contact details of 2 professional referees), pay your membership fee.
