Member (MAusIMM) grade eligibility
If you have either ten years of experience in the resources sector, or a relevant degree and at least five years of industry experience, you may be eligible for AusIMM Member grade.

Member grade FAQs
Who can apply for Member grade membership with AusIMM?
- Professionals with a degree qualification and at least five years’ experience in the resources sector; OR
- Industry professionals with at least ten years’ experience working in the resources sector
How much is annual membership?
AusIMM Member grade membership is an annual 12-month membership fee of $572 (incl GST) for Australian residents. Plus a once-off application fee of $88.00 is charged when joining.
How do I apply to become a Member with AusIMM?
Complete our online application form. You can save your application at any point.
You will need to provide:
- A certified true copy of your tertiary degree in English (if relevant)
- Passport or Drivers Licence photo identification
- A copy of your resume or LinkedIn profile URL
- Names and contact details of two referees*
*these referees must be professionals who have personal knowledge of the applicant. Acceptable professionals include Members & Fellows of the AusIMM or of any other professional association whose members are bound by a code of ethics; professionals authorised to witness Australian Commonwealth statutory declarations; and their international counterparts.
How can I upgrade my membership to Member grade?
- Log into your AusIMM dashboard.
- On the right-hand panel, click "Grade transfer available. Begin application."
- Complete your details, upload your documents (CV or LinkedIn profile; a certified true copy of your tertiary degree; names and contact details of 2 professional referees), pay your membership fee.
