Applications of the VALMIN Code - common uses, potential pitfalls and recent developments

The webinar will provide participants with an introduction to the VALMIN Code, including its various applications and guiding principles.

About this event

It will outline the main requirements that geologists need to consider in preparing technical assessment and valuation reports, including a discussion of potential pitfalls.

The webinar will cover the context of the VALMIN Code within the Australian regulatory framework and its interaction with the JORC Code.

It will introduce three common valuation approaches for mineral assets along with certain aspects that need to be included in valuation reports.

Some recent VALMIN Code developments will be covered, and potential future directions noted.

Deborah has over 30 years consulting and industry experience having previously worked with major mining companies and international consultancy firms over a range of geological terranes. Her previous experience includes BHP, SRK Consulting, Placer Dome and Western Mining Corporation.

Deborah is currently a director of VRM, E79 Gold Mines, the UWA Centre for Exploration Targeting (CET), and Chair of the VALMIN Committee and College Member of the Minerals Research Institute of WA.

She is an advisor to one of the working groups undertaking the JORC Code update.
