About this event
The implementation of the Global Industry Standard on Tailings Management is changing the approach to tailings storge design, construction, and operation.
Financiers and insurers are looking very closely at existing and new projects to see the asses the risks of the projects they are involved with.
This presentation will, in broad terms, go through the 15 Principles of the GISTM and the associated documents.
It will look at the relevant standards and the impact of the principles on these standards, impacts on existing mining operations and impacts on future/proposed mining operations.

Chris has been involved with various aspects from strategy studies, due diligence, and financial analysis of TSF options covering design, construction and operation from project start up to auditing through to project closure for a range of commodities including alumina residue, bauxite residue, base metals (copper, lead and zinc), coal, gold, graphite, iron ore, lithium, manganese, nickel (sulphide and laterite), phosphate residues, rare earth residues, uranium and vanadium.
At this stage of his career, he is primarily involved in high-level TSF reviews.
