Site tour to Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia (TLEA) in Kwinana.
Please note: this tour is now full. To join the waitlist, please email conference@ausimm.com.au
Australia’s first fully-automated lithium hydroxide processing plant is located at the Kwinana Industrial strip, in WA, 20 mins (25km) from the port city of Fremantle and two and a half hours (250km) from the Greenbushes mine, the world’s largest and highest-grade source of hardrock lithium.
The plant is also the first to produce lithium hydroxide monohydrate (LHM), or battery grade lithium. Lithium hydroxide produced at the Kwinana Plant will be containerised and exported from the Port of Fremantle to customers outside of China.
It is a key component in electric vehicle high nickel battery cathode chemistry, delivering higher energy density and longer driving distances between charges. Lithium hydroxide is a lithium-based compound derived from spodumene, a lithium-bearing pegmatite mineral. Spodumene is sourced directly from the Greenbushes mine.
Delegates attending the TLEA Tour will gain an insight into the development of the world's highest grade lithium mineral resource from General Manager Operations, Erik Laurent and tour the facility at Kwinana.
Please note: To protect commercial in-confidence and the technical integrity of operations, it is TLEA company policy to restrict access to the site by competitors in the lithium industry. By registering to this tour, your name, position, organisation and mobile will be released to TLEA for approval.
