Tracy Lacey
Manager Safety Education, WorkSafe (Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety)
Tracy is a highly accomplished public servant with more than 11 years of dedicated service within the State’s workplace health and safety regulator. She brings deep expertise in shaping and delivering high‑impact health and safety education and engagement initiatives across the resources sector. Throughout her career, Tracy has focused on creating meaningful education and awareness programs that empower workplaces and its workforce. Her work is defined by a commitment to working collaboratively with industry to drive meaningful and lasting improvements in health and safety.
For the past three years she has been the Manager Safety Education at WorkSafe, following her earlier role coordinating major health and safety events, including Safe Work Month and the Work Health and Safety Excellence Awards.
Tracy’s commitment to workplace health and safety is shaped by her personal experience growing up in a small community in Nova Scotia, Canada. As a senior in high school, she witnessed the impact of the 1992 Westray Mine disaster, which tragically took the lives of 26 men. This experience has continued to guide her long-standing focus on improving safety outcomes and reducing the risk of harm so that people come home healthy and safe from work.
