Joanne Pafumi
Director ESG and Corporate Affairs, Schlam Payload
Joanne is an experienced corporate affairs executive in the mining and energy industries who brings a stakeholder-led approach to sustainable development strategy and reporting.
Her 30+ year career includes roles in zinc-lead mining with Xstrata and Glencore, coal seam gas and LNG production for QGC, and a group of three Victorian electricity distribution networks, CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy.
Joanne is currently leading the development and implementation of the inaugural Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Roadmap for global mining services business, Schlam Payload. Perth-based Schlam manufacturers customised load and haul equipment for hard rock mining and offers comprehensive product lifecycle care services.
Throughout these roles, Joanne has brought a pragmatic perspective to ensuring ESG strategies are oriented to achieve both the ambition and objectives of companies and the needs and interests of the people who rely on them. This includes customers, communities, regulators and employees.
Joanne holds qualifications in business communication from Queensland University of Technology and finance and investment from the Securities Institute of Australia. She is currently undertaking a Masters of Climate Change at Australian National University.
