Course Privacy Collection Statement

Privacy is important to the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (ABN 59 836 002 494) (AusIMM, we, us or our).

 

How we use your personal information and who we share it with

AusIMM has collected your personal information on this form, including your member details and credentials, title, name, organisation, position, email address, telephone number and address, image and biography (as applicable), and will use and disclose your personal information for the purpose of processing your enrolment in, and facilitating your attendance at, the course you are enrolling in or otherwise attending (Course). If you are filling in this form on behalf of another individual, you confirm that the relevant individual has consented to you providing their personal information to us.

We may use your personal information to provide you with information about the Course and our products and services, including the products and services of our third-party partners and sponsors (with your consent, if applicable), and to otherwise communicate with or manage our relationship with you in connection with the Course.

In order to deliver the Course to you, we may also use your personal information for the following purposes: (a) displaying your personal information at the Course, in a course attendees list published at the Course or displayed online in connection with the Course; and (b) sharing your personal information to our third-party providers, including online platform providers such as Cahoot Learning, IMC Information Multimedia Communication Pty Ltd, Course facilitators, Course markers, hotels, venues and/or catering companies and workshop providers and presenters who assist us to facilitate the Course (such as providers and presenters of our digital masterclasses).

We generally do not share your personal information with our sponsors, third party course providers or facilitators, but we use your personal information to create de-identified and aggregated data and may share de-identified, aggregated data with our third-party sponsors, course providers and facilitators regarding the Course.

Third-parties such as partners, sponsors, course providers and facilitators who take part in a Course may collect personal information directly from you in person or online. If you provide your personal information to such third-parties, the relevant third parties’ privacy policies will apply to such collection, use and disclosure of your personal information.

Providing us with the requested information is not required by law. If you choose not to provide us with the requested information or provide incomplete information, we may not be able to process your enrolment in the Course.

We will also use, disclose and process personal information (including sensitive information) as set out in our Privacy Policy. It is likely that personal information will be disclosed to overseas recipients (as provided in our Privacy Policy, including the location of those entities). Our Privacy Policy sets out how AusIMM handles personal information including how you can seek to access and correct your information or raise a privacy concern with us and how it will be dealt with. If the (EU) 2016/679 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, our legal basis for processing and additional rights which may apply to you are set out in our Privacy Policy.

 

Opting out of receiving marketing materials

You have the right to opt-out of receiving direct marketing from us at any time. If at any time you wish to stop receiving direct marketing messages about the Course, the easiest way to do this is to use the unsubscribe feature in the marketing message you have received about the Course.

You can also contact us at onlinecourses@ausimm.com to opt-out of receiving direct marketing about the Course or otherwise and we can assist you to manage your marketing preferences about the marketing materials you wish to receive from AusIMM.

 

Our Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy contains the contact details of our Privacy Officer and information regarding your rights (including how to withdraw your consent, if applicable) and how you can seek to access and correct your information or raise a privacy concern with us and how it will be dealt with.
