Applications now open for the 2027 Education Endowment Fund (EEF) Scholarships

AusIMM is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2027 Education Endowment Fund (EEF) Scholarships.
In 2027, the value of EEF Premium Undergraduate Scholarships has increased to up to $15,000 per year, providing even greater support for students pursuing careers in mining and resources.
For more than 35 years, the EEF has supported exceptional students through financial assistance, industry mentoring, professional networks and unique learning experiences that help build successful careers in the resources sector.
The EEF offers scholarships for both undergraduate students and postgraduate researchers.
Premium Undergraduate Scholarships
Available to Australian citizens and permanent residents enrolled in mining-related programs at Australian universities, Premium Undergraduate Scholarships are designed for dedicated students who are eager to achieve their best, develop leadership qualities, and expand their knowledge and network within the resources industry. Successful scholars receive:
- Annual cash support of up to $15,000
- A tailored mentoring program with an experienced industry professional
- An all-expenses-paid, one-week field trip to a mineral-rich region of Australia
- Opportunities to engage with AusIMM and its branches, building professional networks and industry connections that can support future career opportunities
Postgraduate Research Scholarships
Available to Australian citizens and permanent residents undertaking postgraduate research in the resources field, Postgraduate Research Scholarships provide:
- Annual cash support of up to $25,000 per annum*
- Funding support for up to three calendar years
- Access to AusIMM's professional network and community, helping scholars build valuable industry relationships and career opportunities
*Please note that the final scholarship value may vary based on other scholarships and stipend values, up to a maximum all-inclusive value of $50,000.
Beyond financial support, EEF Scholars gain opportunities to connect with industry leaders, expand their professional networks and develop a deeper understanding of the resources sector through experiences such as mentoring and AusIMM's annual field trip program.

Applications are open to eligible Australian citizens and permanent residents studying in mining and resources-related disciplines who are passionate about making a meaningful contribution to the sector.
Applications close at 5:00 pm (AEST) on 4 September 2026.
