As the Trusted Voice for people in resources, AusIMM are pleased to provide an update on our work with the Queensland Government to develop the Queensland Resources Industry Development Plan (QRIDP).

Announced by Queensland Resources Minister Scott Stewart earlier this year, the QRIDP will set out a multi-decade vision for the state’s resources industry. The plan will identify key policy levers and actions to be pursued by government, industry and professionals as we advance the sector for the benefit of the community.

AusIMM believe it is vital the government harness the expertise of our members working across the mining value chain, to guide development of this vital strategic framework. This is an imperative well-recognised by our partners in Government.

This week AusIMM CEO Stephen Durkin FAusIMM met with the Queensland Resources Minister to discuss key priorities for the future of the sector. AusIMM also provided a formal submission reflecting the key points raised in our engagement with both the Minister and Department of Resources, which members can access here.

AusIMM will continue to work closely with the Queensland Government on the development of the draft QRIDP, with the launch of a final plan slated for 2022.
