Expressions of Interest – Assessment Markers for Tailings Management Professional Certificate
Delivering a range of high-quality learning experiences for people working in the minerals sector, AusIMM’s online courses are developed by minerals industry professionals and delivered to an international audience.
We are currently seeking interest from members to be markers for the Tailings Management Professional Certificate, final assessment.
About the role and role requirements:
- Markers will be required to have knowledge of and experience in tailings management, specifically the areas covered by the course:
- The key elements of tailings management
- Geotechnical fundamentals of tailings management
- Geochemical and water fundamentals of tailings management
- Tailings management surveillance and governance best practices
- Tailings management requirements for closure
- Socio-economic and ecological considerations of managing tailings
- All markers will be provided with an allocation of participant assessments to mark, along with a rubric to guide them during the marking process
- It is estimated that each assessment will take up to 1 hour to mark
- The marking will be carried out from mid-December, with allowances made for the Christmas break
- Markers will be provided with further instructions about the marking process
- Markers will be required to attend a 1-hour post course debrief with AusIMM, and provide assessment insights gathered during the marking period

Those who are successful in securing one of these roles can claim PD hours for their work on AusIMM Courses and will be offered an hourly remuneration for their time.
