Hunter Region Branch: Hunter Student Chapter - October 2026

QuickFire Night

Our QuickFire Night was a great success on 20 August at the Bar on the Hill, University of Newcastle Callaghan Campus.

About 30 people heard very professional short presentations by seven students about their current project work. Very interesting topics were covered on a range of mining related fields. Cash prizes were awarded for the best presentations.

Refreshments and pizzas were enjoyed by all those attending. Thanks go to our corporate sponsors who made this event possible. Thanks also go to Shane Holmes and Paul Ahern who had the difficult job of being the judges on the night.

Two teams of students have attended the New Leaders Summit and APAC Mining Games in Brisbane in late September into October.
