As the Trusted Voice for people in resources, AusIMM believe health and safety is paramount in the mining industry. Our members possess the technical and professional expertise required to ensure industry operates in a risk-responsive manner, for the benefit of both the workforce and community.

Reflecting our strong profile with Queensland Government, AusIMM have been invited by the Department of Health to make a submission on the remake of the Radiation Safety Regulation 2010 (Qld).

It is important AusIMM take this opportunity to ensure regulatory settings are appropriate to ensure worker and community protection from radiation safety risks associated with mining industry operations.

The Queensland Government propose to remake the regulation in its current form, with a series of consequential amendments to modernise the regulations and ensure alignment with other legislation.

A copy of the draft remade Regulation is available here, together with a consultation paper accessible here.

To contribute to AusIMM’s submission on the proposed remake, we encourage members to contact Policy team via Policy@ausimm.com.
