Adelaide Annual Dinner 2022

· 500 words, 3 minutes

Approximately eighty AusIMM Adelaide Branch members and friends enjoyed a wonderful Annual Dinner night together on 15 July, celebrated the achievements of the year and networked with industry peers.

The Annual Dinner was held in the Adelaide Pavilion, which offered floor to ceiling panoramic views of the Veale Gardens near the Adelaide CBD.

The night kicked off with social drinks and snacks. Stuart Emery, the chair of AusIMM Adelaide Branch, formally welcomed everyone and acknowledged the important support and contribution from 2022 Adelaide Branch partners (Bureau Veritas, OZ Minerals and Iluka Resources), the Annual Dinner partners (Byrnecut and Resolve Mining Solutions) and the Media Partner (Heathgate Resources).

The Adelaide Branch committee was pleased to present 2022 AusIMM Awards to the following winners. Big congratulations to all award recipients for your outstanding achievements.

Our guest speaker was Matt Pearson, COO and co-founder of Fleet Space Technologies. Matt’s company is building a constellation of 140 small low-power satellites in Low Earth Orbit to provide planet-wide coverage for millions of compatible Industrial Internet of Things devices. One of the applications of Fleet’s satellites network is connecting assets and activities in remote industry such as mineral exploration. Fleet’s pioneering end-to-end mining exploration solution combines three technologies, Real-Time Ambient Noise Tomography, low power satellite connectivity and artificial intelligence, to help mineral explorers to identify resource deposits more quickly, easily, and affordably. Matt’s speech generated some great interest and in-depth discussions with the audience, and we wish Fleet Space Technologies to make more innovative breakthroughs in this emerging sector.

The Adelaide Branch committee would like to thank everyone for attending and for making the Annual Dinner night a great success. We look forward to seeing you all in next year’s Annual Dinner.Adelaide Annual dinner 1.jpg
