Adelaide Branch - Bureau Veritas and Magotteaux Student Tours

· 152 words, 1 minute

On 28 July a small but enthusiastic group of (mostly) Chemical Engineering Students from the University of Adelaide toured two of our local mineral processing laboratories to see what a career in mineral processing could hold. We received a warm welcome and an extensive tour of various departments at Bureau Veritas including the assay lab, mineralogy, comminution, wet and dry processing, as well as the larger pilot scale equipment.

The second stop was the Magotteaux Mineral Processing Research lab, conveniently right next door to Bureau Veritas. While Bureau Veritas is a commercial laboratory performing routine testing for clients, Magotteaux focusses on research into grinding and flotation. The students got to witness a laboratory flotation test being performed, and to actually see the bubbles first-hand!

A huge thanks to Chris Greet from Magotteaux and Clint Bowker from BV who facilitated the tour, as well as the other department staff who shared their areas.
