The Olympic Dam IOCG deposit is known for its world class endowment of copper, uranium, gold and silver. In addition to these revenue metals, the deposit is also enriched in rare earth elements (REEs) and a significant portion of the periodic table of elements. The concentrations of REEs and other critical metals, including Bismuth, Cadmium, Cobalt, Lithium, Molybdenum, Niobium, Tungsten etc are currently sub- to non-economic. However, they may become further concentrated during the production of copper cathode, Au-Ag bullion and Uranium Oxide Concentrate via multiple processing streams at Olympic Dam. In this presentation, Kathy will discuss a preliminary assessment of the distribution of the critical metals at Olympic Dam from ore through to final products and tailings.
