Hunter Region Branch President's Dinner 2023

The Hunter Region Branch were very pleased to host a visit by the new President of AusIMM, Nicole Brook, on Friday night 21 July. Nicole has taken up her two-year term as President, and many members may remember that Nicole (now a member of Tasmania Branch) is a former Chair of our Hunter Region Branch.

The dinner, attended by 40 people, was held at the Newcastle Club. The event also celebrated the 75th anniversary of our Branch, and the 130th anniversary of the AusIMM. Nicole addressed the gathering about the history of the AusIMM, and particularly our Branch which was started as the Newcastle Branch in 1947.

Some longstanding AusIMM members of our Branch were recognised on the night with certificates acknowledging their significant time as a member. Members listed below with 40 years or more AusIMM membership were congratulated when receiving their certificates.

In addition, the following members were acknowledged on the night, although they were unable to attend:
Roger Smith – a remarkable 70 years membership.
Bruce Atkinson – 40 years.
