Past events

Annual Armidale tech talk – 13 August - Armidale
Topic: Hillgrove exploration update

Matt Peacock of Larvotto Resources’ Hillgrove mine delivered a fascinating talk into current exploration activities to a room of around 35 interested students and professionals at the University of New England in Armidale.

Matt presented a detailed overview of the history of the operation and the current exploration activities including use of technology to assist with decision making in exploration.

The operation is a complex, multi commodity deposit, potentially open at depth. The future of the operation is an exciting technical challenge with great potential. Thanks to Matt for preparing such a detailed and interesting talk.

JORC Seminar - Singleton- 19 August

The Hunter Branch's JORC seminar is a highlight of our technical calendar. This year 31 people attended, making it another successful event.

The Seminar provides Competent Persons with the opportunity to refresh their understanding of the code, as well as giving people who are new to Resource and Reserve estimation the opportunity to learn about what's involved.

The outstanding response shows this event is a natural success every time and well worth the effort.  Huge thanks to Shane for all of his organisational work, and also to Dale for running a pre-seminar workshop for newcomers to this aspect of mining.
