The inaugural international Critical Minerals Conference
brought together geologists, engineers, technologists, project developers and
financiers, to discuss the issues that the critical materials sector of the
mining industry faces in addressing the current limited supply of a number of
minerals that are critical to our modern way of life. This international
conference is the first such conference held in Australia to address the full
spectrum of risks and opportunities that the potential new suppliers face. The
over-arching themes of the conference included national strategies, markets,
projects, occurrences and element distribution, processing technologies and
financing. Contributions were made by industry, government, consultancies and
academic and research institutions.
