Community & Environment Society - Webinar: A beginners guide to environmental impact assessment for mining projects in Australia
This webinar provides students and mining professionals including engineers and geologists with an understanding of what the EIA process entails, why it is often on critical path, and what mine planners can do to help (e.g. working with EIA practitioners throughout the concept/PFS/DFS process to go forward with a project that minimises environmental impact, maximises community benefit and is economically feasible).
It will provide an overview of basic EIA principles – what EIA is, why it is necessary, and how it is undertaken. It will also provide an overview of how EIA is implemented across Australian jurisdictions.
