Mining Society - Webinar: Abbreviated history of risk management and its application in an enterprise context
Evolution of risk both as the term and a discipline holds important clues to the present day attitudes towards risk management. It is popularly perceived in a negative light yet thousands of years of multicultural influences used it to denote danger, hope and in some instances the divine.
Importantly however, that historical context will give way to a discussion about practical application of the risk process in an organisational context in the context of the three lines of defence model. The discussion will conclude with an example of the relationship between managed, delivery and delivered risks.
Apart from developing or confirming their awareness of risk management as a strategic planning tool, participants will have ample opportunity to ask questions and take the discussion in a direction that is of interest to them.
