Senior Mine Closure Engineer, Stantec

Marcela is a Chemical Engineer with over 14 years of experience in the mining industry. Originally from Chuquicamata, she has a deep-rooted connection to mining and specializes in integrated mine closure planning and sustainable mining practices, working with major companies such as BHP, Teck, and Lundin.

She is also a lecturer at the Mining Centre of PUCV, where she teaches mine closure courses. Marcela is an active member of Women in Mining Chile and has contributed to the industry through technical committees and as an author of mine closure papers presented at international conferences
