Epiroc Women in Mining Scholarship Guidelines and Eligibility

Epiroc has a tradition of innovation dating back to 1873 and has held a strong presence in Australia since 1950. With innovation at the forefront, Epiroc and AusIMM recognise the important shift towards increasing diversity in our industry and championing emerging mining professionals. From 11 August to 12 September 2025, we will be accepting applications for the Epiroc Women in Mining Scholarship (EWIM Scholarship).

Open to women in their final year studying technology-centred studies, the EWIM Scholarship helps scholars find their pathway within the mining industry, facilitate vital connections and advocates for women in STEM. 
 

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:  

  • AusIMM Student Membership – All Western Australia 
  • Currently studying and living in Western Australia 
  • Students in mining disciplines at: 
    • Curtin University 
    • University of Western Australia 
    • Murdoch University 
    • Edith Cowan University 
  • Must be in their final year of a university undergraduate degree OR completing their Masters in; 
    • Mechatronics 
    • Mechanical Engineering 
    • Software Engineering / Computer Science 
    • Mining Engineering 
    • Mathematics 

 Terms and Conditions 

  • Recipient must cover all travel expenses incurred, including accommodation when attending tours, workshops, work experience, and any AusIMM events.  
  • Epiroc will work with applicants to determine tour opportunities and work experience based on their interest and will be subject to both parties (Epiroc and recipients) availability. 
  • As the 2026 Epiroc Women in Mining Ambassador, AusIMM strongly encourage the recipient to write an article detailing their time and experience at 3 events; (1) International Women’s Day, (2), One New Professional Network event, and (3) an AusIMM technical conference, with accompanied photograph/s preferred.  
  • Recipient gives AusIMM the right to share photographs and biography of winner for scholarship promotion, and relevant content regarding their ambassador role at any given time. 
  • Recipient must be available to film an award acceptance video to be played at AusIMM’s Annual Awards event in Brisbane on 17 October 2025. While the recipient is welcome to attend the event in person, due to travel considerations, providing a pre-recorded video is required to ensure their acknowledgment on the night.
