Stand with us as we drive positive change together

At AusIMM, we are committed to Driving Positive Change Together.

Building on the momentum of our International Women’s Day Event Series, and with the support of our members and partners, we are actively mobilising our community.

We’re proud to introduce our new Positive Change forums — community-focused gatherings where professionals come together to learn, connect, and share. These forums listen to local concerns, uncover diversity, equity and inclusion opportunities, and drive tangible actions at the local industry level, creating lasting impact across the resources sector. Hear from our 2026 IWD Series Ambassadors

AusIMM’s International Women’s Day (IWD) Event Series theme, Driving Positive Change Together, highlights the power of collaboration to advance diversity, equity and inclusion across the resources sector.

Lasting change happens when we share knowledge, recognise achievements and work collectively to shape an industry where everyone feels valued, included and connected.

Our Series Ambassadors are exceptional women from across the mining industry who are championing meaningful change within their organisations and paving the way for the next generation of leaders.

Watch the video to hear how they are leading by example and helping build a more diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce.

Positive Change conversation starters

Start meaningful conversations. Drive small, actionable change.

These conversation starters are designed to spark discussion, reflection, and simple actions that contribute to a more inclusive, supportive, and positive workplace. Use them in team meetings, toolbox talks, lunch-and-learns, or mentoring sessions.

1. Diversity and inclusion awareness

  • What’s one small change we could make this week to ensure everyone feels included?
  • Whose perspective haven’t we considered lately, and how can we create space for it?

2. Everyday behaviours and culture

  • Think about your daily interactions — what’s one thing we could do differently to make the workplace more respectful?
  • Are there team habits that might unintentionally exclude someone? How could we adjust them?

3. Mentoring and career support

  • Is there someone on the team who could benefit from guidance or support? How could we help?
  • What opportunities exist to help colleagues develop skills or explore new roles?

4. Work environment and psychological safety

  • How can we support colleagues when they face challenges, stress, or difficult situations?
  • What small actions can we take to create a culture where everyone feels respected and valued?

5. Recognition and encouragement

  • Who has gone above and beyond recently, and how can we acknowledge their efforts?
  • Do we celebrate small wins inclusively? What more could we do to acknowledge and recognise achievements?

6. Continuous improvement

  • If we could change one process tomorrow to make the workplace fairer or more inclusive, what would it be?
  • What’s a small idea we could try this week to have a positive impact on our team culture?
