For students studying disciplines critical to the future of the resources industry, the new BHP Resources Pathways Scholarship offers an opportunity to gain financial support, build industry connections and access professional development opportunities that can help shape your future career.
Delivered by AusIMM and BHP, the scholarship is designed to support undergraduate and postgraduate students who demonstrate motivation, leadership potential, industry engagement and a commitment to responsible resource development.
Unlike traditional scholarships that focus primarily on academic achievement, the BHP Resources Pathways Scholarship recognises potential beyond grades alone, helping students develop the skills, networks and experiences needed to build successful careers in the resources sector.
Four scholarships available in 2027
The scholarship will award:
- Two undergraduate scholarships
- Two postgraduate scholarships
Applications are open to students at all stages of their university journey across a range of eligible engineering, geoscience and related disciplines.

- $4,000 in direct financial support
- Complimentary registration to New Leaders Summit 2027
- Complimentary registration to one AusIMM technical conference of choice
